Jennifer Dahms, MS/CCC-SLP, BCS-S has been a pediatric speech language pathologist since 1997.  Her past treatment has focused primarily on pediatric feeding disorders.  She earned her BS and MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.  Mrs. Dahms has worked in pediatric outpatient clinics and Wisconsin’s Birth to Three Program in two counties in the Milwaukee area from 1997 to 2006.  In 2006, she relocated to Boise with her husband where she began working at St. Luke's Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services from June 2006 to October 2008, providing pediatric speech and feeding therapy as outpatient services as well as in conjunction with Idaho’s Infant-Toddler Program.  In October 2008, Jennifer opened her private practice, Valley Pediatric Feeding LLC.  Mrs. Dahms is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).  She has also been a member of the Idaho Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA) since 2006.  Jennifer received ASHA's ACE Award for continuing education in February 2010 and again in January 2011.  She also received the Board Recognized Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BRS-S) certification in August 2011, and is currently a Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S).

The majority of Mrs. Dahms’ post-master’s education has focused on oral motor feeding topics, such as the Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Treatment Protocol; sensory integration disorders; oral sensory feeding disorders; tube feedings; a three-part oral motor treatment plan that utilizes bubbles, horns, and straws; ribcage handling techniques for the child with neuromotor involvement; and Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT).  She has provided clinical supervision for speech pathology students and participated in the American Speech Language Hearing Association's (ASHA) S.T.E.P. mentoring program.

Jennifer has completed numerous in-staff and parent training sessions on various feeding topics, as well as presenting "The Bases of Pediatric Oral Motor and Feeding Disorders" at the Idaho's Speech, Language, Hearing Association's (ISHA) conference in October 2007 in Boise, Idaho and at the Inter Mountain Speech and Hearing Convention (IMASH) in October 2008 in Salt Lake City, UT.  She also presented "Pediatric Feeding and the School Speech Therapist" at Idaho State University's (ISU) Winter Symposium in January 2008.  Mrs. Dahms has also presented on problem eaters as a parent training session in August 2008.  In February 2011, Jennifer presented "The Problem Eater:  Picky Eating, Oral Sensory Issues, and Behavior Modification" on speechpathology.com.  She was invited back by speechpathology.com on March 26, 2012 to present again - "Treating the Picky and Problem Eater".  Portions of her answers to participant's questions have also been featured on speechpathology.com under "Ask the Expert".  Jennifer presented with Gawenda Seminars in March 2013 on "Pediatric Swallowing Assessment and Treatment".  In 2014, she presented a six-part series on pediatric oral motor feeding disorders for speechpathology.com.

Jennifer has also been a peer reviewer for continuing education courses on speechpathology.com.
